Mini & Me Workshop
These workshops provide early art exposure for children (ages 1-2 years old) while giving caregivers the chance to socialize and create their village! Let your kiddos have fun exploring different art mediums, while you relax, chat, and make new friends!
$18 for caregiver and child
School's Out / Art's In
Artists (ages 8-12) can spend their morning off from school meeting other art friends! The workshop will start with fun art games and icebreakers, and then transition into our art lesson for the day- Meet the Masters: Picasso. Artists will learn about the famous artist, study some of his works, and then create a self-portrait in his Cubist style.
$34 per artist
Saturday Morning Classes- Hands On: Building Bridges
Artists (in grades 4-8) will use recycled materials to attempt to build bridges that will hold different weights.
Hands On workshops are created without a final product in mind, and are designed to teach grit and a positive growth mindset while having fun with STEAM.

Homeschool Workshop- Meet the Masters: Maya Angelou
Artists will be introduced to the spoken word and writings of Maya Angelou. They will choose one of her poems to visually interpret.

Homeschool Workshop- Hands On: Invention Convention
Artists will be introduced to famous inventors, and will create an invention to help solve a problem, sketch it, and sculpt it using recycled materials. This workshop is created without a final product in mind, and are designed to teach grit and a positive growth mindset while having fun with STEAM.

In this Little Artist Workshop, we will read the story Ten Apples Up On Top and artists (ages 3-5) will create prints using fruits and vegetables.

Art Apprentice Program: Comic-Con
This is a four week series for artists in grades 5-8. We will meet every Wednesday (April 8th - April 29th) from 4:30 - 6:00pm.
Artists will learn about comics, and create their own. They will fine tune drawing techniques, learn about color theory, and study the history of comics. They will also use language art skills when writing their comics.

Art Apprentice Program: Rewriting Art History
This is a four week series for artists in grades 9-12. We will meet every Monday (April 13th - May 4th) from 3:30 - 5:30pm.
Artists will learn about the different prominent ears throughout the history of art. They will select a specific work of art and recreate it for the 21st Century.

Saturday Morning Classes- Hands On: Flying Bird
Artists (in grades 4-8) will create their own paper bird, learn about charges, and try to make your bird fly without touching it!

Community Art Workshops are a time for artists of all ages and abilites to come together and create! They are great for families, friends, or just yourself. Drop in for all or any of the two hours, and leave with a unique work of art and some new friends!

Homeschool Workshop- Meet the MAsters: Van Gogh
Artists will be introduced to Vincent Van Gogh. They will have the opportunity to jump into some of his most famous paintings, and then create their own version of The Starry Night.

Artists will learn 5 different watercolor techniques, and create a larger scale abstract painting combining their favorite new techniques.

Artists (in grades K-3) will read the story The Big Orange Splot. Then we’ll have some fun of our own creating a painting inspired by a splot of color!

Open Studios are FREE EVENTS for artists of all ages and abilities. Bring a project you are working on, and create around like-minded artists.
Teacher Appreciation Gift Making Workshop
Take the stress off of you and have your artist make a handmade gift for Teacher Appreciation Week (May 4th-8th)!
This is a pre-registration drop-in workshop for artists of all ages and abilities. You can bring your artist to The Studio any time from 6:00 - 8:00pm (project takes about 30-45 minutes). Each artist will make a stain-glass inspired candle holder and a hand-written note for their teacher. Battery-operated tea light included.

This is a pre-registration drop-in workshop for artists of all ages and abilities. You can bring your artist to The Studio any time from 6:00 - 8:00pm (project takes about 45-60 minutes). Each artist will make a pinch pot jewelry dish and a hand-written note for their favorite lady.

Art Apprentice Program- Meet the Masters: Ai Weiwei
This is a four week series for artists in grades 9-12. We will meet every Monday (May 11th - June 8th) from 3:30 - 5:30pm. (There is no class on May 25th.)
Artists will learn about contemporary artists Ai Weiwei, and study his advocacy work. They will create a work of art about a cause they are passionate about.

Art Apprentice Program- Mask Making
This is a four week series for artists in grades 1-4. We will meet every Tuesday (May 12th - June 9th) from 4:30 - 6:00pm. (There is no class on May 26th.)
Artists will study different masks, and create and paint their own plaster mask!

Art Apprentice Program- Meet the Masters: Frida Kahlo
This is a four week series for artists in grades 5-8. We will meet every Wednesday (May 13th - June 10th) from 4:30 - 6:00pm. (There is no class on May 27th.)
Artists will learn about Frida Kahlo and study her many self portraits. They will create a painting of themselves in the Kahlo style.

Saturday Morning Classes: In the Tall Tall Grass
Artists (in grades K-3) will read the story In the Tall Tall Grass. Then we’ll make a mixed media image of nature from a bug’s perspective.

Saturday Morning Classes- Meet the Masters: Kandinsky
Artists (in grades 4-8) will be introduced to the artist Kandinsky. They will create a wax resist of concentric circles in squares in a style similar to the artist’s.

Colors of the Market
Let’s celebrate Spring with an en-plein-air art event! Colors of the Market is a drop in workshop, at The Studio, and we’ll paint the Haymarket Farmers Market!
If you have your own supplies there is no cost to come create with us.

Artists (in grades 4-8) will learn about glass-artists Chihuly. They will create a large scale work of art using plastic bottles to mimic Chihuly’s blown glass flowers. Please note the the larger work of art will stay in The Studio; participants will be able to bring home smaller pieces that they create.
